This is the original release of “Voices Green And Purple” & “Trip To New Orleans” by the Bees.

It was tracked at United Western Recorders in Hollywood by engineer Phil Kaye.

VG&P started getting some radio airplay in Southern California but was pulled from the airwaves because none of the band were union members or could afford the dues.

Of the 250 copies made, most went to the main rock radio stations and DJ’s of the time. A few made it into jukeboxes in Azusa and Covina California.

The record has been re-mastered using a pure analog signal path and is available from the Ugly Things website.

  1. Hi. I love the Bees single. Nice to see it re-issued.

I was wondering if there are any plans to release the “Sweet Dreams for Sour Pickles” album, or anywhere to listen to it. I am extremely interested, it sounds fantastic.

    Thank you,

    Chadwick
